Hands-on STEAM Learning!

Help me give my students tools for STEAM learning. The LEGO sets are ideal hands-on learning tools that my students will be excited about!. And then the projector will allow them to showcase their learning! A perfect combination!

My Project

My students will define the criteria and constraints of a real-world design problem with Legos! The set includes coding language, based on Scratch, in an app included with these materials.

These resources include easy-to-use hardware, and an intuitive drag-and-drop coding language that continuously engages students through playful learning activities to think critically and solve complex problems.

Classroom application of the principles of programming are utilized. Students will also use design engineering and develop a model to generate data for iterative testing and modification of a proposed object, tool, or process such that an optimal design can be achieved.

Finally, the students will showcase their learning with the projector included. These presentations will give the students an opportunity to share their ideas and processes while developing the students' confidence and social skills.

Also included in these lessons are the skills of learning how to work in a team responsibly, sharing, coordinating roles, and taking turns. These are really ideal social-emotional goals for my students. Covid-19 has interfered in the day-to-day social and academic activities at school. Let's make up for that by providing these wonderful tools!

The requested resources will directly relate to helping students advance in their academic learning by providing them with hands-on experience. Research shows students retain more this way!
