Hands-On Specimen Sets for Curious Seventh Graders
Help me give my students visible, concrete examples of the amazing diversity on our planet!
This project expired on January 27, 2020.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Thank you so very much for viewing my fundraiser! My students are from a rural area in Virginia, and do not have the resources as many of the larger schools in the surrounding counties. They are very curious, inventive, and eager learners, and they enjoy hands-on activities above all else. I want them to have more learning experiences that involve manipulating, observing, and experimenting.
It is still early in the year, but my students love lab days!
Please help give them more to observe and manipulate!
Science is a subject best served up in an active way! Students in my 90 minute classes need to get up and move, and explorations and activities are incorporated as much as I can. I will even make a test review a station activity if possible, having the students move around the class as they search for material they should review.
My new classroom has no specimen sets for the animal or plant kingdoms, which will make it harder for some students to visualize, as well and compare and contrast, all of the different kingdoms.
