Hands-On Scientific Creativity for In School or At Home Learning
Help me give my students hands on creative materials such as playdoh, modeling clay, paint, and scientific materials such as magnifying glasses, bug specimens, and tools for conducting experiments for in school or at home if necessary.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an energetic, inquisitive, and enthusiastic group of 26 seven and eight-year-olds in the inner city of Providence, Rhode Island. My second graders are always eager to come to school and love to read, write and problem solve in such thoughtful and creative ways! My students are so appreciative of each other and all that we do every day. They are culturally diverse and enjoy sharing their own unique experiences with the class.
Many of my students have special needs and also special talents, so we learn so much from each other.
My school is working hard to build community among families and staff, and we have a safe, respectful environment.
My Project
Second graders learn best when they are allowed to use their imagination and experience content in a hands-on way. These materials will be be to extraordinarily good use by my amazing little scholars as they create insect life cycles, recreate their favorite bug in 3D form and so much more! The playdoh, clay, and other art supplies will go into individual creativity kits that each child will received in a special container so they will have exactly what they need and not to to share. Unfortunately this year we need to be extremely safe and not share materials. These materials will also go home with students if we have to transition to Distance Learning. The scientific kit requested has over 60 project ideas for every science topic and will guide my students in learning at high levels as they create.
