I teach at a low-income school which services many diverse students. These students are very curious learners who are motivated to learn each day. Our students set learning goals and work hard to accomplish them every week.
My students have the most interesting questions and love hands-on science experiments.
This desire to do interactive science inspires me to have everything I need to help them be successful. It’s been proven that students will grow academically, as well as socially, when they have the right tools. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, but they are all seeking to increase their knowledge and better their lives.
My Project
These hands-on activities will give my students a more direct perspective on earth science. The Stream Table Kit will enable students to manipulate the landscapes to learn more about sediments and how they can create different features based on water flow and other variables.
This study of erosion, sediment deposition and the behavior of rivers and lakes will increase my students' understanding of Earth sciences.
Since Coronavirus, my students need all the hands on activities they can have. This will encourage them to see the different ways our Earth can change, how each element creates a new kind of environment and get them outside again to explore.
