My students need hands-on experiences to help them grasp and fully understand our science content. We want to bring out the Denver Museum of Nature and Science to do workshops for our science curriculum.
My school serves students in grades preK-5. I work in a 4th grade classroom that has 27 kids this year. I work in a school where the majority of students (73%) are receiving free or reduced price lunch.
These are students who truly need the best quality education, and I would love to do everything in my power to give that to them.
Students at my school are extremely spunky, and creative, but with all that creativity comes a whole lot of energy! These kids deserve many fun, lasting life experiences from school. I want them to get out and do hands-on learning that connects to our curriculum.
I would like for our fourth graders to get the most out of our curriculum. Many of my students don't have a lot of background knowledge on our amazing science topics. I want to help them form lifelong learning memories by bringing in the Denver Museum of Nature and Science for hands-on workshops.
I know that this experience will be one of our students' fondest fourth grade memories.
The science museum does an amazing job of bringing in fun stations and simulations that allow students to form deeper bonds with magnetism, electricity, the sun, earth & moon. I am so excited to be able to share this opportunity with a second group of fourth graders this year.
