Help me give my students a visual representation of how gravity works with the awesome Falling Bodies Apparatus. We will be starting our grade 8 unit on forces and motion soon.
My students look to carry on a proud tradition of being actively engaged with the content they are learning. We use numerous tools and strategies to help ensure that all students achieve success and enjoy their time here with us at TDS. Some of these tools include technology, sense-making science notebooks, flexible grouping and integration with other curricular areas. Teachers act more as guides to create innovative project-based learning experiences that will engage our diverse group of students in meaningful and relevant projects through which they will not only learn the science content but develop and apply 21st-century skills and knowledge.
My middle school believes in learning environments that foster exciting, active, co-operative learning experiences that celebrate and value the worth of individual diversity.
My Project
Neuroplasticity is the growing or the shrinking of neurons based upon usage. At our middle school, we believe that teaching hands-on is the best way to increase our students' neuroplasticity.
In grade eight, we will be learning all about energy....types, and resources.
The Falling Bodies Apparatus will help students visualize gravitational force.
When students begin the Astronomy unit, they will greatly benefit from building telescopes as it also incorporates the design process and sparks curiosity.
The Where's The Fat? and CO2 kits will enhance student knowledge of the periodic table when we do that unit in Spring 2020.
