I would like hands-on science materials to enrich my Science program. Our children do not get to go to the Science lab, so I have to provide all Science exploration in my own classroom. Our district Science plan requires many units.
I teach kindergarten English language learners at an elementary school greatly impacted by Katrina students. We have over 200 relocated students and their families as part of our school population. Most of my students come from a low socio-economic background. They have had little or no exposure to Science exploration.
I would like hands-on Science materials that will allow for individual and group exploration. These materials will improve their language development and comprehension in all areas of learning. I teach 30 children and they will all use these materials.
The children come from homes and backgrounds that are very limited. They do not even recognize farm animals like cows and sheep and horses. We have to cover many areas in science discovery: farm, zoo, rain forest, ponds, reptiles, pets, insects, and many more. These materials will enrich my lessons and excite the children. By actively using materials, they will remember more because the lessons will be more meaningful.
