My students are inner-city children from low economic homes. They have all interests and abilities. They are eager to learn and experience new things. Many come to school without all of their supplies, so asking them to supply other things, such as the ones requested, is not possible.
These students need materials to help them be on task and focused.
Any opportunity to help these students make the most of their education is paramount! They would greatly appreciate your support!
My Project
Having hands on science activities in the classroom is a huge help in understanding key concepts. Having these materials to manipulate and read about will help my students to better understand what they are learning.
Erosion, fossils, catapults, levers, pulleys, light, and refraction are among the hands on resources needed for my students to manipulate in order to better understand these concepts.
While I can pull up pictures and talk about these things, it makes such a big difference to be able to build them and experience them in action. These are among the many topics my students will learn about while in fourth grade.
