My students need to have some hands-on activities to learn about Science and History. The Learning Tubs will give them the opportunity to understand Science in a new way.
My students are so inquisitive. They always want to know more, and sometimes know more than I do. Science and History are their favorite subjects. Their favorite part of Science is when we get to do STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) activities and they have to build and test different designs. One STEM activity we did was building Popsicle stick bridges. They had to make the strongest bridge possible using only 30 sticks and 3 feet of tape. They got so creative, and even though all the bridges didn't succeed, they learned from those failures as well.
My Project
Science is one of those units that can be either really exciting or rather boring. Hands-on materials can turn a boring lecture into an exciting experiment. Students learn better being able to manipulate materials and see how the world really works. For example, it's one thing to tell a student how erosion works, but another to let them experience it by themselves.
With this project, I hope to buy some new hands-on materials for my students.
They will be able to build molecules, divide cells through meiosis, build a structure that can survive an earthquake, and so much more! Please help me raise the money to buy these kits for my students. Thank you!
