My students need a Reading Writing Center so that I may be able to model phonics and writing skills. They will also be able to participate in hands-on learning by providing this mobile center.
I currently teach Reading and Social Studies to first and second graders. My students spend most of their time in small group reading/writing rotations in my classroom. Many of my students are below grade level in Reading and I am looking to increase engagement and hands-on learning. I am looking for a Reading-Writing Easel Center to increase engagement during small and whole group reading and writing instruction. With this easel, students will: be able to use it to build words and sentences with magnetic letters on the magnetic whiteboard, create anchor charts during guided reading instruction, practice writing using the lined side of the whiteboard, and read books during the whole group reading. I will be able to use this easel daily during phonics instruction to better support my students learning.
My Project
I am requesting a Regal Reading Writing Center so that it may be easier for me to model reading and writing for my young learners. My students and I will be able to use this center for the whole group and small group reading. The center comes with a magnetic whiteboard, a book stand and 4 bins to store reading and writing learning materials.
This Reading Writing Center is mobile so I will be able to provide hands-on learning for my students.
I am most excited about my students being able to use magnetic letters to form words from our phonics program. I will also be able to present large books so that I may read aloud to my students on a daily basis. With this center, the possibilities are endless!
