My ESOL students want to read at the same level as their peers. Please help them to increase their reading levels and confidence through hands on games and activities.
Many of my students are learning a second language, though they are born in the United States.
They often struggle with reading complex, grade level texts. They work hard at school, but can become easily frustrated. Many of the ESOL students are growing up in poverty. My school does not receive any additional Title I resources as the total school numbers are not high enough.
My Project
With these games and activities I will be able to engage my students while they are learning reading comprehension skills. After introducing a new skill students will be given the opportunity to practice the skills with the games and activities. The Nonfiction Reading comprehension cards are visually appealing and allow the students to quickly practice a new skill. The The Reading Comprehension Board Games and Reading Comprehension Instant Learning Center will also help them work on interpersonal skills such as communication and team work.
These materials will help build my ESOL students reading comprehension skills and reading confidence.
They will allow them to practice challenging new skills in a fun and engaging manor.
