Imagine walking into kindergarten without any preparation. No interaction with other kids, classrooms or teachers. Scary, huh? My classroom helps prepare students so they do not have to be overwhelmed in a new environment. I help these students form their basic and fundamental skills before jumping into the big world of general education kindergarten.
The students in my classroom vary in skill levels, age, gender, and race.
However, they all share one thing in common. They are so excited to learn!
My Project
My students learn through interactive and hands-on play. This strategy allows students to learn with all their senses and appeals to all types of learners.
With the Step 2 jack-o-lantern and gingerbread house, students will develop fine motor, social, cognitive, and problem-solving skills all while having fun!
The birthday cake counters and learning cow will promote students' number identification, rote counting, matching, 1:1 correspondence, color identification, sorting, fine motor, and social skills.
These supplies are engaging, durable, and age-appropriate for our classroom. They will be paired with thematic units and student work bins. Materials will be used for all future students as well.
