Help me give my students hands-on learning for morning tubs and stations with Magna-Tiles, Log Builders starter set, Magnetic Write and Wipe Board, Classroom Magnetic Letters Kit, mentor text and much more.
My students this year are so eager to learn and enthusiastic about everything we do! They light up every time they learn something new. The students are a sweet and kind group that care for each other deeply. This year I have a large range of learning abilities in my class. I have a group of students who do not know their letters and sounds and also a small handful of early readers. I also have a student who does not speak English.
My Project
Everyday when students first walk in the classroom we work in our writing journals. Many students have a hard time sitting down within the first 20 minutes of class and thinking about what they want to draw and write. I think a morning tub activity would get students excited about coming in every day as well as get their brains moving bright and early. Students will be more engaged in these type of activities and therefore will be more ready for a long day of learning. This will also give them a time to interact with other students in their groups before our workday begins. Students don’t have many times throughout the day where they get to talk to their friends. These morning tubs will provide a fun and engaging time for students to do this. Students will be able to work on fine motor skills as well as math and literacy at the same time. The pony beads and pipe cleaners will be used to build numbers. Students can make sight words and build CVC words using letter cubes. Students will also use sensory tubs with magnetic letters and tweezers to find letters to make words. Students will be given an opportunity to do STEM like activities with Magnatiles, Lincoln Logs and a marble run. They will LOVE it.
