Help me give my students choices in the classroom for morning tubs, with Squigz, magnetic building tiles, Tinkertoys, and other fun, engaging S.T.E.M. centers.
Our classroom is currently comprised of 19 precious first graders who are so eager to learn and be a part of our classroom community! Our classroom has a nurturing environment with positive relationships, high learning expectations, and continuous growth. I am always looking for ways to make learning for them engaging and fun!
We are a Title I school servicing grades Pre-k through 2nd grade.
Despite the many challenges they face, they love having opportunities to explore and create with many different types of materials. They enjoy working with others and brainstorming new ways to do things. I want to offer them opportunities to problem solve as a team, enhance their learning environment and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I also want them to have all the materials they need to be successful. My students would greatly benefit from using these hands-on materials to help them learn and practice problem-solving.
My Project
Morning center tubs are a creative and engaging way for students to start each school day, as they work together collaboratively with other students. The students will enjoy working together as a team, instead of working independently at their desks when they arrive to school.
Having a variety of morning tubs filled with engaging STEM activities will provide my students with additional opportunities to practice skills collaboratively with their peers.
They will be able to be creative while choosing a morning tub that contains materials that interest them. This type of morning routine will make students more engaged because they will have some ownership for the activity.
Help me give my students hands-on activities that build thinking skills, encourage creativity and promote teamwork and collaborative work with peers. We need materials that will allow us to use our hands and brains to create communicate and build!
