I teach in a cross-categorical classroom with students that have been identified with a variety of learning disabilities. I have a wide range of students from Kindergarten to fifth grade, and they are all at different abilities and levels.
My students learn and gain understanding through hands-on activities.
I would like to get more instructional materials that will help my students learn more abstract math concepts through hands-on activities. Providing more of these opportunities will allow for deeper understanding.
My Project
These hands-on activities and instructional materials will help my students gain an understanding of math concepts that can be abstract. My students benefit from using manipulatives daily to help them learn various math concepts. The instructional materials will provide me with more guidance to make my instruction more meaningful and purposeful for my students.
Math is not always the easiest subject for my students, and I want to make it fun for them.
By using these new materials I can help them be less frustrated and enjoy math in a new way. I can't wait to see how these materials help my students.
