Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have one of the most wonderful groups of students! They are sweet, kind, responsible, hardworking, and curious learners.
Our school is a low-income school in a low-income neighborhood where resources are scarce.
The school does the best they can to provide all the necessary tools, but it never quite seems to be enough.
My students are a diverse group of students who come together to create a wonderful learning community. Over half of the students in my class are English language learners and all students bring a unique perspective to the classroom. They deserve nothing but the very best!
My Project
First graders love learning and exploring and giving them the opportunity to do that is a priority in my classroom!
Having the right supplies and tools for students to explore math concepts in a hands-on way can be challenging at our low-income school, but I don’t want a budget to keep them from learning in a super effective way.
These math manipulatives will help my students work with math concepts in a fun and engaging way and will help them to enjoy learning. My first graders will enjoy using the fun objects to count, writing answers on the whiteboards, and manipulating the shapes to create new objects! Please help me give my students a wonderful learning year!
