My classroom is full of a diverse group of 10 year olds. They are growing emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually during this year in 4th Grade. They bring their own interests and experiences into our classroom discussions. Their thirst for knowledge helps boost our classroom.
They are bright eyed and curious about the world around them and are searching to find their place in the world.
I enjoy helping them learn about how everything works and how they can make life better.
Theses materials will allow for students to work in a tactile physical aspect of math. Students will be able to gain a concrete understanding of place value and number sense through the use of tactile and kinesthetic hands on math manipulatives. Many students struggle to understand the abstract concepts in math. These materials will help to increase student engagement, interest, and understanding of such a vital elementary math concept. Students will learn to understand and apply number sense while physically manipulating the numbers to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. The base ten material manipulatives will help my 4th graders gain a concrete understanding of number sense.
