I just started a new math intervention position for third-fifth graders at my school. Due to this being a new position for us, there were little existing materials to work with.
The students I work with come from a variety of backgrounds and skill levels!
It has been amazing to see the excitement and joy the kids have developed from receiving the extra boost in math I am able to provide. They are engaged and thankful for everything I am able to provide them with. They even claim to love math, yay!
My Project
These materials will allow me to present mathematical content in an alternative way that makes it accessible to all learners.
My wish is that kids, even those who struggle at math, will find it fun, challenging, and exciting!
The Place-Value Activity center will allow kids to manipulate numbers and split them into parts with a guided center activity. While the Monkey Fraction Game will allow others to move on to more complex independent practice.
The Logitech Presenter will allow me to instruct, and guide kids in group activities while conducting whole group instruction and independent practice all at the same time.
With the addition of these supplies, my students will have a solid mathematical foundation to build upon for years to come!
