I teach 5th grade in a Title 1 school that is Pre-K through 5th. Despite the challenges that most of my students may have at home, they love coming to school.
I try to make learning as hands on and fun as possible.
My students thrive when they get involved with the learning and it becomes meaningful to them. I want to provide as many hands on activities with my students as I can whether it’s through science labs, STEM activities or games.
My Project
This project will greatly benefit my students this years and hopefully years to come. The science and STEM kits will allow a hands on approach to our science objectives and it will also make learning fun. I can almost hear my students begging to play with these games and labs!
The math manipulatives will really come in handy when we discuss fractions and geometry.
Instead of just hearing or seeing something, they can actually touch the manipulatives and make a connection with the concept.
Lastly, the dry erase page protectors can be used in numerous ways, especially with math fact practice and math centers. These will help save paper and adds some fun and motivation to the assignment.
