Help me give my students learning centers that improve their problem solving skills, are hands-on and help supplement our math curriculum. VersaTiles are engaging and a great resources to enhance our math curriculum.
My class is a fantastic group of hardworking, motivated, and giving second graders. Their attitudes are positive and they love to learn. However, with many budget cuts and our low income community, it is hard to meet the demands of student needs.
These students devour any challenge or new topic brought up in class.
They have a love for learning and investigating new ideas. Recently, I've noticed a need for hands-on learning centers. My students love math and problem solving, however we are lacking in engaging math center activities. My students want to investigate and grow their brains.
These students are from a low income community yet they are immensely successful. Our school district is a Blue Ribbon School that recently was recognized as one of the top elementary schools in the state. I'm telling you, these kids are amazing!
My Project
Students love to practice with hands-on materials. Versatiles provide a fun, engaging, and educational way to practice math concepts, while working independently or as a group. The benefit of Versatiles is that the students can check their own answers based on the pattern of the Versatiles when they are done and self-correct if needed.
Versatiles are fun and educational for kids to use and they help them practice responsibility, because they are able to check their own answers by matching patterns.
This process helps student self-assess the learning targets in math.
Different levels of Versatiles allows for differentiation of the material for the students. Our classroom is in need of the 2nd grade Versatile Math Kit. The hands-on approach using Versatiles allows students to stay engaged, as it is like completing a puzzle by selecting answers.
