My Students

In teaching Readiness Kindergarten, my classroom is often my students first real "school" experience. I get the opportunity to shape their perception of school-I aim to make it a place that they want to be, look forward to coming to, and where they feel safe, special, and successful. I also aim to lay a solid academic and social/emotional foundation that will allow them to find success in kindergarten and beyond! I teach in a very hands on manner, and my students benefit from and enjoy this play-based learning!

My Project

I try to keep my math lessons and activities as hands-on and engaging as possible. We could really use some more hands-on resources that build numeracy and 1 to 1 counting skills! We would use these counting games/resources in small group instruction and at practice centers! The kids would be engaged in learning while having fun too!

We don't have a large assortment of hands-on counting manipulatives.

My kids would would love exploring with the library of math manipulatives-counting, sorting, making patterns, and more! Little learners have a harder time staying engaged at independent centers, but these would help ensure my students are engaged in meaningful activities that they can engage in independently.
