Hands on Math for Special Needs Students
My students need a math strike game and card stock to make math manipulatives for class.
Do you remember sitting in your math class and having counters to aid you in early learning. Did you have the opportunity to have educational games to aid in your learning? My current students do not always have these materials.
I have the privilege to teach a group of special education students in an urban environment.
All of my students receive free lunch. Most of my students have a cognitive disability or an other health impairment. My students LOVE to come to school and are making huge academic gains. However, our district does not provide the resources that they so desperately want and need.
I am requesting a light and strike math game that covers all basic operations. This will be motivating for my students to use and it will cover many different areas in math. I am also asking for color card stock to use to make manipulatives to aid in math comprehension strategies.
My students DESERVE the best.
Unfortunately, special education students tend to be at the bottom of the supply totem pole. My students require specialized instruction and materials to aid in their learning, and with your help this will occur.
