Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 15 wonderful students committed to learn! They are kindergarteners between the ages 5 and 6. All of my students show an honest desire to learn and they all love school! They live in a community with lots of needs but with so much potential. At their short age they have learned to work hard for their goals and not to let their lack of resources be an excuse for their performance.
My students are committed to do their best in every task!
They enjoy going to school and interacting with each other!
My Project
My students are tired of working on math sheets. Students need to understand math can be fun and that it is part of most of our daily activities! These materials will promote math interest and understanding. Also, the materials chosen are designed to promote interactions among students. The addition and subtraction boards are great to help children learn such complicated skills in a simple game. Magna-Tiles have proven to provide a sense of tridimensional objects to young children! With your help we will help children develop problem solving and team work skills - fundamental skills not only in the math field but also as useful members of our community.
We need hands-on manipulatives that allow us to learn math through play!
My students have a genuine desire to learn. Let’s show them math can be fun!
