Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year I will be working with children ages 9 and 10. Many of them come from a low income household and do not have all the things that they would need for school. I can relate to my students because I was one of them. So therefore, I understand their struggles and I am very aware of how difficult life and school can be for them. I want them to come into my classroom with no worries and their love for learning to flourish. I want every single one of them to be successful in their own way, but most importantly, I want them believe in themselves, just like I believe in them.
My Project
Having manipulatives available to all my students will be very beneficial for their overall success in Math. I want each and everyone of them to learn in their own way. I will be able to differentiate for them through the use of manipulatives. Most children need the hands on experience to be able to learn content. If their lives outside the classroom is a struggle, I want their lives in my classroom to be engaging and fun. Each and everyone of my students deserve to have this valuable gift in our classroom. It will be a blessing to get all the help possible to make this happen for my students. Thank you!
