We are a classroom of special needs students. These students are far below grade level and are eager to reach their full potential. My students may not be able to learn in a traditional manner and need assistance and modifications to help them succeed.
My students don't always thrive in the larger general education classroom, but our resource room has the potential to help them excel with the right materials.
Because we are a resource room class, we are in the same room all day and will use the supplies on a regular basis.
My Project
My students have disabilities that greatly impact their learning. My class is a Math and Science resource room. My goal is to provide my students with a great variety of hands on tasks that they can complete in class to help expand their math and science abilities, even if they are unable to participate in a traditional class setting with their peers.
The STEM activity sets will be used daily in class for Science and Math learning centers.
At each center, the students will be tasked with addressing a science/math topic. The Math Hot Dots will be used in a similar manner. I think my students will especially love the immediate feedback given to them by the Hot Dots pens! By using centers, my students will be exposed to a variety of activities to help stimulate their learning.
