This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Every year my classroom community includes students from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Our biggest populations of students include: Arabic, Swahili, Burmese, and Puerto Rican. It is so important to me for students to be proud of who they are and maintain their sense of identity in a safe space.
My Kindergartners come in every day excited to learn!
I want to be able to provide fun and engaging learning activities for them.
These students live in urban communities, facing economic difficulties. Regardless of their experiences, they are bright and eager to explore the worlds around them.
My Project
Using hands-on materials is very beneficial for early learners. All of these activities will help engage students so they are able to learn to the best of their abilities.
These materials, such as letter builders, will be used in small group areas to reinforce Kindergarten curriculum.
Students will feel as though they are playing, when in reality they are learning concepts they will need to master Kindergarten and further their education in upcoming years.
My classroom does not have a lot of hands-on materials to help benefit the students. Having these materials for my new and future students will help the success of these students.
