Our students come from various backgrounds and economic situations. All of the families who we serve are under 100% of the federal poverty guidelines. The number one goal that we have in our program is to help make each child feel safe and loved while in our care. As many of our students come from unsafe and unstable homes, this is very important to us.
We strive to give our students the best learning environment possible.
Being a federally funded program, we are very limited on the funds that we have to plan activities and lessons. We want to provide our children with fun as well as challenging activities that encourage their learning and keep them excited about their education.
My Project
Having new manipulatives will encourage and help my students continue to use their imagination to build and create new structures. My students are very eager to create new things but our current manipulatives that we have are limit them on what they can build and do. Having these new manipulatives would give them more to work with to build and create. Having new tools to work with increase there level of learning as they become excited about having new materials to work with.
Manipulatives are an important part of the early childhood curriculum.
Children can use manipulatives like the magnatiles and the playsticks will help them to practice a wide variety of skills including fine motor skills and hand eye-hand coordination. My students need new, bright, and exciting manipulatives to explore and continue to grow their imagination and minds!
