Help my students to have a hands-on experience in math and social studies. There would be endless activities that we could do using the math and social studies materials that I have requested.
My students attend a public school in Tennessee.
They have a love for learning in all subject areas. They are eager to learn and achieve. My students are a diverse group of fourth graders who have a variety of interests. They love to read, participate in class activities, help others, and simply do their best in all that they do. They are fascinated with technology and thrive on being independent. They are also very inquisitive and would much rather find answers on their own rather than me telling them the answers! These math and social studies supplies would allow them to be independent learners where they problem solve and learn through inquiry!
My Project
Kids need to have hands-on experiences to fully understand many concepts that are taught in math. We would have so much fun using the math manipulatives! Kids are now taught why and how the math works. They aren't just expected to learn a formula and memorize the steps. They are provided with a hands-on way of seeing why those algorithms work. We need more of these concrete, hands-on materials so that kids of all abilities and interest levels can enjoy and understand math. My students need hands-on activities, like social studies activity cards, and USA desktop maps for social studies. My students need maps of the United States that they can draw on and manipulate in their hands. Having their own United States' write on map at their desk will help when learning geography and the history of our country. This hands-on manipulative will benefit my students greatly.

Please help my students get some hands-on materials to increase their enjoyment of and learning about math and social studies. These manipulatives will provide my students the opportunity to manipulate information to solve problems. Problem solving skills are critical in today's global economy and ever changing workplace. If we teach them to be problem solvers, they will be successful in any career path
