Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach a group of energetic first graders! They are always excited to be at school and ready to learn. They are curious about the world and want to learn more through hands on activities.
My students all come from very diverse backgrounds.
One third of my class are English Language Learners. Not only do they come to school and learn in a different language but our school is also a title 1 school. Which means that most of our students come from a low economic status.
My students love hands on activities. In first grade we teach our students to be problem solvers which is why they love to do STEM activities and work together as a team.
My Project
These STEM kits will help underprivileged kids gain fine motor skills that most kids already have. Not only will it give them fine motor skills but it will give them problem solving skills as well. They will be able to learn how to work together as a team to solve these STEM activities as well as they will have fun with one another.
I want my students to succeed!
One way I will help them is by getting some materials to help me stay organized throughout the year. I am a first year teacher and I am excited to help my students in any way I can.
