My students come from many different ethnic backgrounds. Most of my students speak at least one other language at home. I teach at a school in Massachusetts where 100 percent of students receive free breakfast and lunch. Some students are sent home with backpack meals. Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They come to school no matter what is happening at home to learn and be successful in school. I like to provide my students with creative and meaningful work.
I provide my students with a lot of visuals in the class. I am constantly making anchor charts for different concepts. The more colorful, the more appealing it is for students.
Students are expected to complete multi-step problems in math.
A writing tablet is a great tool for students because it allows them and me to check their work. It's much easier to fix a mistake than trying to erase a problem.
I am constantly looking for hands-on science projects. Students are very engaged when they have materials to work with. The magnets are to use with a magnet themed unit I am going to be completing. Students get so excited to use magnets every year.
