75% of my students, if not more, receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Most of them know that the food they eat at school could be the most they eat all day. While my students live through adversity and struggle their compassion for one another knows no bounds. On a daily basis I get to see and hear how compassionate these students are for each other. Their environment is so strong and worthy of more successful tools for their future.
My Project
While student learn to read and do math in the early stages of their life the brain process information and stores information quicker when done as a game. The materials being asked for will allow me to create games for reading and math by allowing the students to manipulate the materials to learn letter sounds, how to build words, how to understand stories, how to better do mental math, and so much more! These materials will also allow for longevity. Giving me to increase student learning and retention not only for my students this year, but for many years to come!
