Help me give my students various manipulatives like letter and number fishing/activity centers to continue to increase their daily living/academic skills.
Our school is in the suburbs of a large city in PA. Our community school is in the heart of a neighborhood. At our elementary school we pride ourselves on our ability to reach all learners through various learning and multi-sensory experiences and resources. I have 5 students in a brand new classroom who are eager to learn, but have many different learning styles and needs! The kiddos in my classroom have a wide range of gifts and cannot wait to increase their skills using new daily living tools that will help enhance their learning experience.
My Project
There are many manipulatives needed to help increase the academics (reading and math basic skills), fine motor, and daily living skills for the K-2 Special Education Learners in this newly developed classroom at Level Green. The Bingo, fishing, cutters, etc. will help the students gain the skills needed to continue to increase their mastery in yearly goals and daily functional skills. This will give them a multitude of ways to engage and learn some basic skills.
The materials listed will be utilized throughout the classroom in the various stations.
Some of the materials will even be used for independent work centers. Activities for Daily Living is a center that many of the materials will be used in, such as working through a task analysis of cutting skills and using fine motor skills for each individual student.
