Help me give my students these hands-on materials to help foster my students' interest in STEM and a standing desk to support my teaching in the classroom.
My students are very diverse. They come from different socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Some of my students are English Langauge Learners, some have never had a school experience before kindergarten, and some are not exposed to educational experiences on a regular basis. As a kindergarten teacher I try to use a variety of resources to meet the needs of my students.
As different as they are, my students all have one thing in common: they love learning!
In order to keep this excitement alive to make them lifelong learners, they need the opportunity to learn using different modalities. It is extremely beneficial for my students to be able to participate in hands-on activities and to use technology to learn kindergarten standards and to access different learning opportunities.
My Project
The standing desk will allow me to better utilize my technology and permit me an easier platform to teach my students. Use of the standing desk will allow me to access my computer, document camera, and other teaching materials in a flexible manner so I can make the best use of my classroom during instructional times.
Students will be able to acquire science and phonics skills by using hands-on learning.Hands-on STEM materials will help foster an interest and love in my students for science, technology, engineering, and math.
The phonics materials will allow my students to work independently to increase their foundation in basic reading skills and to hopefully foster a continued, life-long love for reading.
