My Students
I teach an energetic group of second grade students who make my job exciting and rewarding. They are all curious learners who really love hands-on activities. They are most interested when they can get out of their seats and move around the room.
The students in my classroom have a variety of interests and learning styles.
We live in a small, rural community and it is important for our students to get opportunities to explore topics that meet our school's learning standards through engaging activities.
My Project
I have chosen a number of games and activities that will help students interact while reinforcing what they are learning in class. The items I have chosen, including the POP for Word Families Game, the Math War Addition and Subtraction Game Cards, the Word Shark: Short Vowels Game, Math Equivalency Puzzles, and a variety of other games and puzzles, are specifically designed to increase understanding of math and literacy concepts taught at the second grade level.
I am excited to be able to offer students hands-on learning activities that will be engaging and fun while teaching them about math and literacy.
This project is designed to bring to our classroom items that are well outside of our budget but will last for a long time and be enjoyed by students for years to come.
