Ms. Fletcher from Atlanta GA is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need physical objects such as a flip books and math boards that are used as teaching tools to engage them in the hands-on learning of mathematics and literacy.

My students are a great group to teach. All my students are from low economic background. My students are very eager to learn everyday. They are smart and love coming to school everyday to have fun learning.
My students attend a Title 1 school where they receive free lunch at 100%.
My school is in the middle of a very low neighborhood. Even though they get free lunch, it is still not enough for some of them because I try to make sure they go home with an extra snack if they tell me that they are hungry. These students are so eager to learn. They are not letting their lack interfere with their learning. They work so hard everyday to learn and excel in their learning. I am so proud of them.
My students need literacy and math games and activities that focus on the alphabet, letter recognition, and writing, as well as math manipulatives to explore with at Learning Center time. Specific materials can be added to promote literacy and math learning in my students who is lacking in so much. Often these centers are used to purposefully engage students in literacy and math related activities while the I am meeting with other students in small groups for instructional purposes during their center block. The donations asked will help my students succeed in literacy and math. Using the building-a-story-flip book, teaching vocabulary, alphabet dice, vowel teams, blends-diagraphs, working on fluency skills, and working on final E will help promote literacy for my students.
These resources in my centers will offer purposeful, hands-on active learning.
It engages my students in thinking and problem solving. It will allow for decision-making and choice. These centers are open-ended and responsive to different levels of learners (differentiated levels). Using the supplies will allow my students to work independently, collaboratively and successfully. These supplies will help activate my students' desire to learn.
Using the ten-frame dice and the visual math write boards will allow me to see exactly what my students are doing, and provide an easy place for them to show and share their work.
The resources donated will be greatly used in teaching my students.
