My Students
I teach a self-contained special education classroom with fifteen students. Our typical day is very structured and we are limited to the technology in the classroom. I teach in a low socioeconomic area and my students do not have access to technology at home.
I have students with mild to severe disabilities such as intellectual disabilities, Autism, and emotional disturbances.
My students respond well to technology and I can use the requested iPad mini to help meet educational goals. Many of my students are from low-income homes and technology is limited.
My Project
These materials will help my students to use hands-on materials to reinforce learning that has already been taught and to help them to gather and prepare material/supplies necessary for their next subject/assignment.
In my classroom, my students have a lot of trouble with fact fluency and the sequencing math game will help reinforce memorization of the math facts.
This will help them to reinforce math fact fluency skills while playing a fun game. The number puzzles will hap reinforce numeral recognition and counting.
The pencil sharpener will help them independently get their own materials/supplies needed to bring to their reading/math group. It is very difficult for my students to use the manual pencil sharpener on the wall in our classroom.
