My students need access to this teaching easel to maximize engagement and student learning. This would be a beneficial hands-on learning tool to help my Kindergarteners explore letters, numbers and words.

My Students

We are in a small town in Central Kentucky. My students are diverse with a variety of needs. Many of our students come from low income families of one parent or live with grandparents. We want to give our students every opportunity available to learn and grow.

Many of my students are experiencing school for the first time.

I want their learning to be developmentally appropriate and child centered. I want to foster the love of learning in each child.

My Project

My students will be able to use the easel as a hands on learning tool to maximize learning and engagement. This will be on their eye level and will help them explore the world of letters, words and numbers.

They will work on letter identification, sight words, spelling, writing, punctuation, etc.

We will do Daily Morning Messages in which students will have hands on opportunities to focus on skills to promote literacy and numeracy.

This easel will be used throughout the day both in large groups and students will have independent access during classroom center time. It will also serve as a place to develop charts and other learning tools together.
