Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is the first year of traditional schooling. The goal in my kindergarten classroom is for students to learn social skills and fundamental basics of knowledge that will guide them the next 12 or more years of school. Over half of my wonderful kindergarten students are ESL / ELL meaning they are learning English. Their diverse backgrounds make our classroom a wonderful place to be!
My rambunctious kindergartners are experiencing all the new thrills of school and are excited to learn new things each day.
My students come together each day with the same goal: to learn new things and create new friendships. They are excited about learning letters, numbers, and the foundations of reading and math!
My Project
In Kindergarten, it's important to provide students with hands on learning experiences to build their fine motor skills.
My students need these fine motor manipulatives to work on when they first arrive to school every morning.
The students will work on a different bin each day and utilize the materials independently in order to build their fine motor and other skills. Students will use the gel boards to practice their letter, name, and number writing. They will use the letter builders
to learn the composition of letters which builds their writing skills. They will use the alphabet locks to build on their letter recognition skills. The letter lacing set will be used to create words with the fine motor task incorporated.
look forward to using a different bin each day and will be able to build not only their fine motor skills but also their ability to work independently. Those skills are so crucial in the foundational grade of Kindergarten!
