This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
We are a Title I-funded school and this year, one hundred percent of our students will receive free breakfast and lunch. We are located in a suburb of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our children come from low socioeconomic households and assistance is often needed to help them find success. Our students work hard and love to practice and to learn. They are very hardworking and truly care about themselves and others.
My Project
We will be starting Lesson 7, Natural Resources, in a few months. These supplies will give my students the opportunity for the hands-on experience which will enhance their learning capabilities. These kits will give my students the ability to pick up and manipulate natural resources. It will give them the ability to really understand what natural resources are.
As students form fossils, make mountains crumble, wear down rocks and more, they learn about Earth’s properties and forces—hands on!
We will receive 8 different experiment cards with involving activities based on national science standards. We will be able to complete each experiment and explore concepts in depth—from real rock samples and erosion trays to vocabulary cards, diagram cards and full-color charts that make concepts easy to grasp!
