My Students

I have been teaching Kindergarten for the past ten years at a low-income, high-need school. This is my second year teaching self contained Kindergarten at my school.

Many of my students come from foster care or a home that can be stressful and overwhelming.

I can see it in their faces that they are trying their best to enjoy life, but I can also see that they are worried, angry, frustrated etc. over things going on in their life and it’s unfortunate.

My Project

The life of autistic children can be full of imagery rather than words, a tablet can be tailored to a child's needs and help create a creative outlet. This year I have several students who are autistic and would benefit from educational technology.

We are requesting a Kindle tablet to help my students stay engaged, have hands on activities and interact with technology.

This tablet will ensure they have access to this technology at all times. The tablet will also be used for the class to use during math activities independently, research science projects and accessing the camera feature for show and tell. Please help us reKINDLE our passion for technology. We can extent our learning by interacting with what we are learning.
