Help me give my students the tools to read. The Change a Sound flip book would be a great tool and the Letter Crayons are awesome for little hands. The Storyteller box is a great tool.
My students are expressive, courageous, routine loving, and unique kids. Being autistic does not define them, it is a small expression of who they truly are.
Everyday my students come to school ready to learn and face the world one day at a time.
Although they learn something new each day, it is I who continues to learn from them. The expression and excitement my students make when they learn something is the most heart warming experience a person can have. Each one of them amaze me every day!
My Project
These items will improve the reading readiness that we work every day to achieve. My classroom reading block is a time of hands on activities with fun and engaging games to keep the students wanting to learn. Every student works hard to achieve what typical students learn easily.
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional resources and will help them with more effective learning.
The Change a Sound flip books give the students a chance to learn new words easily. This tool allows students to just change one sound and make a new word. Autistic students struggle with writing and coming up with stories. The Story teller writing box is a great tool to get the who, the where, and the how started for the students. Then simply draw a card out of the box and it gets them started. And the kids have fun while doing it.
