Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best to achieve our high expectations every day.

Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunches.

Most of my students have limited resources outside of school, so our school may provide their only chance to experience enriching activities.

My goal every year is to create an environment that is warm, safe, and welcoming while maintaining a fun, creative learning atmosphere.

My Project

As we start 2022, I have a list of fun hands-on lessons planned that require supplies so they can engage in physical activities rather than listening to lectures. For our upcoming unit on landforms and erosion, I would like to provide students with clay, paint and storage containers to help students visually understand how these science concepts work.

Hands-on learning is important in the classroom because it allows students to engage in kinesthetic learning.

I am requesting wrapped candy supplies for estimation and counting for the 100th day of school. I try hard to develop cross-curricular activities for my students and the 100th Day of School is a perfect day to do this. Valentines Day is also fast approaching and the hearts and craft material will be use for various SEL activities on that day. It's important for my students to have meaningful hands-on activities throughout the school year and I hope my project has sparked your interest.
