Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class consists of ten unique, enthusiastic, and diverse students who have special needs. We are in a low-income urban school district. Our elementary school includes pre-k through third grade classes, with several self-contained special education classrooms.
My class is a community of learners who have numerous strengths but also have learning challenges.
The students work hard every day to improve their skills and show growth. They are energetic, fun, happy, and eager to learn. Each day is an adventure, and my students will always be my 'kids' long after they leave my classroom!
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help my special needs students practice foundational skills in a fun way. The hands-on learning activities will be a welcome addition to our learning centers. My students will be able to practice counting and adding with the Counting Cars set and It's a Snap! Simple Addition Center. The Numbers to 100 Match-Ups will help my first and second graders improve number recognition.
Your donation will help me enhance my lessons and learning activities.
The Magic boards will be used for the students to practice writing letters and numbers, and the students can write their responses on the Magic boards during a lesson. In addition, my students love stickers, and the scented stickers will be a wonderful way to motivate and reward my students. The pocket calendar will come in handy to review calendar skills; my old calendar was falling apart and needs to be replaced.
