My Students

Our school is located in a rural area in the heart of west central Minnesota. Our school district serves approximately 10 small communities in the area. My students are incredible kids. They are bright and active learners who enjoy activities that keep them engaged! We make and learn about music every day, and each grade level puts on two performances each year for families, friends, and community members. They enjoy the opportunity to share their music with others and learn about musical concepts in an engaging way!

My Project

My students love being able to have a hands-on experience in our music classroom! They also love the opportunity to play instruments during our concerts. I am requesting the glockenspiels because we have a definite need for barred instruments in our music classroom! I chose these instruments as I can easily transport them between the two schools where I teach. With additional instruments added to our music classroom, we can give students the chance to play these instruments during class time and performances. This allows them to continue to build their musical skills and knowledge, while also giving them a boost in confidence when given the opportunity to play for a performance!
