This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students range from Kindergarten to 4th grade. They have a variety of needs, including learning disabilities, health impairments, developmental disabilities, autism, emotional and behavioral challenges, and more. We provide direct instruction in academic and nonacademic areas through our self-contained classroom. I love seeing them make new connections and watching them grow and advance from year to year!
My Project
These tools will help my students access and engage in learning! I teach a self-contained K-4 special education classroom, where students receive direct instruction to meet their academic and behavioral goals. Learning through play is the perfect approach to retaining information for my younger scholars, while the hands-on manipulatives will provide my older scholars with a visual representation to increase understanding of concepts. Multi-modal, multi-sensory teaching methods are very effective with my students and these learning tools will give them additional opportunities to engage with our curriculum and meet their goals!
