Hands-on Learning in Math!

Help me give my students these awesome math resources! They absolutely love using rekenreks when adding and subtracting. I have a larger class this year (26 first graders) and only a limited number of manipulatives! Thanks!

My Students

I love my group of first grade students! They are very curious, bright, and have really caught on to various math skills like no other group before, especially in such a short amount of time. They really enjoy learning new things and are not afraid to try new concepts!

In math, students are learning how to use various strategies to add and subtract.

They enjoy having a visual representation in front of them. When using manipulatives, they are able to stay on task and complete a task much more proficiently than before.

My Project

My students absolutely LOVE using manipulatives in math, which is essential at the beginning of the school year. My first graders are sharpening their addition and subtraction skills. I want them to learn the basics and be able to begin practicing these new skills with the help of manipulatives. My students are very hands-on, visual learners and I would like to provide them with what they need to be successful! They love using rekenreks, which is a fabulous math resource, especially for counting! The only issue is that I only have three of these to share - among 26 students! Any help would be appreciated!!
