Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a unique and special 4th-6th grade non-categorical pull out style) small group classroom with students in special education that need more support during the school day to have access to the general education curriculum. The students at my school come from families who struggle to make ends meet. All of my students are English Language Learners. All they want is a place to feel safe and learn.
My students are curious and eager to explore the world around them and bring such life to the school day!
In my classroom we are readers, writers, scientists, mathematicians, and explorers. There are definitely some musicians and artists too! Their dreams are huge...as big as their imagination takes them.
My Project
These empty number line, integers addition and subtraction, and multiplication and division resources will help my students learn more about integers and basic math operations. The awesome science books by Simon Seymour will help them see the topics we are studying in science. The other books (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Giving Tree, Why Mosquitoes Buzz, Stone Fox, Owl Moon, The Wall, The Titanic) are ones the students have chosen that they are interested in and are really excited to read!
