Help me give my students Magic Boards, geometric shapes, and TenFrames so they have an opportunity to learn language and math skills using a fun, hands-on approach.
My kindergarten class is composed of students who come from a wide variety of backgrounds. These varied backgrounds include English language learners, Exceptional Education students, low income students, and students from one and two parent households. Many of these students have experienced a learning gap due to the interruption of the school setting last Spring due to the Coronavirus. They come to school each day excited and eager to learn. They have already formed a community in our classroom by working together and helping one another. I am so proud of the rituals and routines they have already learned during the first few weeks of school. I want to give them every opportunity to be successful in the classroom setting.
My Project
These learning materials will provide kinesthetic learners the ability to practice different educational skills with a hands on approach. The students will be more engaged because these learning tools will be fun and interactive. Students can practice writing their letters and numbers on magic boards to help with their retention and successful recognition. Letter and number recognition is a basic skill the students need to master as many skills build upon these. These learning materials will change an average learning experience to a more dynamic one. The students will retain more information and their gains will increase.
