Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have yet to fall in love with school, being their first year, it is crucial that their education gets off on the right foot. I want my students to be confident learners, who can use their various talents to achieve their life goals. Now is the time to encourage believing in themselves.
Students will always made to feel welcome and loved.
The classroom goal is for students to be reading sight words and decoding words by the time they enter first grade, as well as count to 100 and have developed their fine motor skills. The main goal is for students to be able to apply their skills to everyday life to further enhance their lives in and outside of school
My little ones are new Kinder students, most of whom will be experiencing school for the first time. Their ages all vary between 4 and 6. Our school is K-8 and is within a low income community. This school is also a title 1 school and the class is beginning with a limited amount of supplies and centers.
The children come into school excited and willing to learn. If we keep them motivated and intrigued about learning, while also combining it with fun, our students will go on to be successful in a large amount of endeavors.
My Project
I am asking for help in getting my students manipulative's and puzzles. I am a new teacher at a new school, and am starting my class with the basic supplies. I am looking to keep my students engaged. Manipulative's and building blocks are a great way for children to express themselves as well as well as work on their critical thinking. By having materials to build students can express themselves, and bring their imaginations to life. These will also be great for helping to teach them shapes and colors the puzzles will especially help with this. It will be a great way to encourage future architects and creative minds. The students will be working together developing great communication skills and will also be working on their fine motor skills which are a very important part of development at this age. These materials will be easily incorporated into math lessons and science lessons. The bingo will give students an opportunity to learn as they play and will encourage attention to detail.
This project will make a difference because it will give the students materials that I cannot possibly afford bringing in on my own.
Having them engaged and learning is the ultimate goal and will get them on track to a lifelong love of learning.
