Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work with about 80 English Learners in 5th and 6th grade who have experienced interrupted classroom instruction due to the pandemic.
English Learners excel when they are given hands on instruction.
Now that students are back in the classroom, I am working with several small groups to provide personalized and interactive lessons.
My Project
After a year and a half of online learning, my students need a lot of individualized support to meets the demands of the classroom. This year, I am making more materials than ever to help support my students.
Technology is important in the classroom, but students missed putting pencil to paper. My project will go to replenish supplies such as glue, paper, lamination sheets, and markers and a cart to organize class materials for students.
I have also requested some chart paper which I use for anchor charts which students can refer to in class.
I believe that all students should have access to a classroom with adequate supplies, so their teachers can always plan lessons that are most effective and engaging lessons.
